01 / Features

Six stems in one pass

One upload returns vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano, and everything else as separate files.

Two stem mode

Only need the acapella or the instrumental? Run the two stem split and skip straight to the download.

Sonura Split

Sonura Split does the separating, tuned for both two stem and six stem output. Nothing to configure: upload, pick the split, download.

WAV or MP3 out

Export lossless WAV when the stems are going into a mix, or MP3 when file size matters more than headroom.

Nothing to install

Runs in the browser on any machine. No plugin, no local GPU, no command line.

The next step is in the same place

A separated part sits alongside the tools that make new ones, so an isolated drum loop can become the seed of a new track instead of a dead-end download.

04 / Use cases

Who uses this

Producers

Pull a reference track apart to hear how it was built, or lift a single element from music you own the rights to.

DJs

Build mashups, extend an intro, or run an acapella over a different instrumental in a live set.

Remixers

Start from a clean acapella instead of a filtered mix, and rebuild the arrangement underneath it.

Musicians and learners

Mute the vocal to sing over the backing track, or solo the bass to work out a part by ear.

Mix and post engineers

Rebalance a bounced mix when the session is gone, or separate music from voice in delivered audio.

Video and content creators

Take the instrumental under a voiceover, or lift a hook out of a track for an edit.

07 / FAQ

Stem Separator FAQ

What is stem separation?

Stem separation splits a finished, mixed audio file back into its parts: vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano, and everything else. A separation model estimates what each source contributed to the mix and writes each one out as its own file, which lets you isolate, mute, or rebuild around individual elements of a song you only have as a stereo bounce.

What formats are supported?

Upload WAV or MP3. Stems come back as WAV for lossless quality or MP3 for smaller files. Check the app for the current file size limit.

What's the difference between 2 stems and 6 stems?

Two stems gives you vocals and instrumental: the fastest route to an acapella or a backing track. Six stems separates vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano, and other, which is what you want for remixing, sampling, or studying an arrangement. Drums only come out of the six stem split.

How long does separation take?

Most tracks finish in under a minute. Longer files and six stem splits take a few minutes, and processing happens on our machines, so nothing depends on how fast your laptop is.

Is stem separation free?

Yes, free accounts get credits each month that cover several separations. Paid plans raise the limit and cover commercial work.

How accurate is stem separation?

Accuracy depends on the source: a well recorded, clearly arranged track separates far more cleanly than a dense or heavily limited one. Sonura Split isolates each element as cleanly as the mix allows, which on most material means stems you can drop straight into a session. Expect some bleed between parts on busy or heavily limited mixes.

Can I get just the drums?

Yes: run the six stem split and download the drum stem on its own. Here is the full walkthrough.

Can I use separated stems commercially?

The tool is cleared for commercial use, but the underlying recording is not automatically yours. You need to own the original or have permission from the rights holder. Separating a track does not create any new rights in the song.

What's the best stem separator?

The real differences between tools are stem count, output format, speed, and what happens after the download. Sonura Split does two and six stem splits, exports WAV or MP3, and sits next to the tools you would actually use the stems in, so a separated part can go straight into new work.
