What is stem separation?
Stem separation is the process of using AI to split a mixed audio track into individual components like vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano, and other instruments. This allows you to isolate, remix, or remove specific elements from a song.
What formats are supported?
The stem separator supports MP3 and WAV input files up to 50MB. You can export your separated stems as either WAV (lossless, higher quality) or MP3 (compressed, smaller file size).
What's the difference between 2 stems and 6 stems?
2 stems separates your audio into vocals and instrumental (everything else). 6 stems provides more detailed separation: vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano, and other instruments. Use 2 stems for simple vocal removal or 6 stems for detailed remixing.
How long does separation take?
Processing time depends on the length and complexity of your audio file. Most tracks are separated in 30-90 seconds. Longer tracks or 6-stem separation may take a few minutes.
Is stem separation free?

Can I use separated stems commercially?
You can use our stem separation tool commercially, but you must own the rights to the original audio file or have permission from the copyright holder. Separating copyrighted music does not grant you rights to use the stems commercially.
