Generating an AI sample is the easy part. Here is the full DAW workflow: describe the sound, pick a category, set the BPM with the tempo control, export stems, and drag them into Ableton, FL Studio, or Logic Pro.

Generating an AI sample is the easy part. Getting it into your session cleanly, in tempo, and ready to build around is where the actual workflow lives. Here's the process, start to finish.

Step 1: Describe the Sound You Want

Describe the character of the sample: instrument, tone, mood, and genre, for example "warm lo-fi piano loop" or "dark trap 808 one-shot." Genre and descriptive detail go in the prompt. Tempo and sample type are set separately (see Step 3), not typed into the text.

Step 2: Export the Individual Stems

Don't export the flattened mix if you're planning to rework it. Pull the individual stems (drums, bass, melody, one-shots) using stem export. This is the difference between a sample you can actually produce with and a finished loop you can only play back.

Step 3: Select Your Category and Set the BPM

Pick the category that matches what you're building, then set your tempo using the BPM control rather than writing a number into the prompt. Locking BPM this way means the generation lands at your exact project tempo with no re-timing needed later.

Step 4: Drag Into Your DAW

Stems export as WAV, ready to drag directly into Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, or Pro Tools. If you're working inside your session already, Sonura Flow skips the export/import step entirely. Generate and drop straight into the timeline.

Ableton Live: drag stems into a new audio track. Warp is usually unnecessary since generations are locked to your specified BPM. Match your project tempo to the generation tempo before warping if you do need to stretch.

FL Studio: drop stems into the Playlist as audio clips, or load them into a Sampler/Slicer if you want to chop and rearrange one-shots.

Step 5: Layer, Don't Just Loop

The biggest workflow upgrade over sample-pack loops: since every generation is original, you can layer multiple generations (a drum stem from one prompt, a melody stem from another) without phase or tonal clashes from reused material. This is the same logic behind why AI loops beat browsing shared libraries for original-sounding tracks.

Step 6: Regenerate Instead of Endlessly Searching

If a sample almost works, don't dig for a replacement. Adjust the prompt and regenerate. Ten variations in the time it takes to scroll through one sample pack.

What file format do exported samples come in?

Do I need to pay royalties on samples I use commercially?

Will imported stems match my project's BPM automatically?

Generations lock to the BPM you set with the tempo control at generation time. If your project runs at a different tempo, you'll need to warp/stretch in your DAW as you would with any external audio. Setting the correct BPM upfront avoids this in most cases.

Can I chop a generated one-shot into smaller pieces?

Yes. Treat exported stems like any other WAV file. Load into your DAW's sampler or slicer (e.g. FL Studio's Slicex, Ableton's Simpler) to chop and rearrange as needed.
